Hunt hoped ..........
Story
Hugh Hunter Jamieson (18.7.75 - 20.10.24) known as Hunter, Hunt, Hunty, Jamo and my little (not in size or height but in age) brother had hope from the day he was diagnosed with Melanoma in November 2023.
Hunt hoped to survive, live, fight, and beat Melanoma.
He hoped that he would see and be with his children Hughie (9), Walty (8) & Charlotte (3) every day and watch them grow up, fish, surf, swim, sing, dance, drive them to school/childcare, eat dinner with them, hug them, laugh with them and more than anything he hoped to have time with them and never leave them.
Hunt hoped that Professor Georgina Long (Hunt’s Melanoma Oncologist) and Professor Richard Scolyer would be awarded the Australians of the Year for their Advanced Melanoma and Lifesaving Research. On the 25th of January 2024, his hope came true for the two Professors – Australians of the Year!.
Tragically and heartbreakingly, Hunt’s hopes (our hopes) were not to become a reality. We know Hunt would have hoped and wished that no one had to (or has to) suffer as he did. He would have hoped that as many of you as possible are able support ‘Hunt hoped…..’ my team for the Melanoma March – a walk to raise money for Professor Georgina Long’s continued research fighting Melanoma.
I hope you can walk with me on 23rd March 2025 in Adelaide (Team ‘Hunt hoped….’) or with Mum & Het (Team ‘Hunty’) in Sydney – we can have a chat, a giggle, or a cry about Hunt.
Em (Hunt’s big sister) x
